Winter Workshop

$20 – $25Our next Sogetsu Colorado workshop will be Saturday, December 3. The theme is “Dried, Bleached, or Colored Materials”. This is outlined in Book 4/lesson 13. Please join us as Gregory Gaiser and Kimiko Kuno offer demos and critique. Also, Fusa Wakumoto, one of the founding members of Sogetsu Colorado Branch, will demonstrate.
We are holding the workshop in the shadow of the passing of Mrs. Ruby Maruyama. As one of the founders of Sogetsu Colorado and a former director, Ruby was a guiding light and a strong influence on the direction of our organization. She had such a unique impact in so many aspects, and each of us will be paying homage to her, in our own way, during the workshop.
We will be doing a “group” arrangement as a tribute to honor her. There will be container with a shin line already placed available at the front of the workshop space for you to place a flower, line material, jushi or whatever you would like to contribute. The arrangement will be made during the workshop time while we are doing our individual arrangements. Please don’t feel that you must contribute, but please do if you are so moved.
- Bring a container and dried, bleached, or colored materials as well as live materials to arrange. (e.g. mitsumata, dried and/or colored leaves/branches, midollino, etc. – No unconventional materials)
- FEE: $20 for members, $25 for non-members. Please pay by check at the check-in desk before the class starts.
